Use Site Navigation to go to Department pages, Employee Resources, News and Events, and your personal space on My Intranet.  Breadcrumbs help you see where you are on the eIntranet site. The breadcrumb in the figure indicates that it is the Forums page in the Employee Resources area. Breadcrumbs also are navigation links. You can click Home to go to the home page, or other links on the breadcrumb trail to go to those pages. This box of links connects you to important or often-used content. Lists the forums with a brief purpose statement. Click on the link to enter the forum. Displays the number of topics in each forum. Displays the number of posts in each forum. Displays when the most recent entry was posted. Click this to be notified in by email when a forum changes. You can set additional criteria for what is sent to you in the forum. Click this to be notified in your RSS feed when a forum changes. You can set additional criteria for what is sent to you in the forum. Opens the Control panel for you to perform additional forum actions. Enter a search string to look for in one or more forums. Logout of page editing mode. Click Department Wizard to create or delete a department for your intranet. View the Site Map of your intranet. Opens the Welcome Guide page. Enters the Workarea of the CMS400.NET, which gives you powerful customization of the web site beyond the "out-of-the-box" eIntranet V2. You can click on the tabs below to search the entire site, or search for colleagues, groups, or activities. Click here to go to your inbox to read your messages. Opens your profile page where you can customize your intranet information. Use the Workarea to search the Intranet site. Login to create and edit content, such as adding a new department page, and customizing your eIntranet through the CMS400.NET Workarea. Typing a term in this Search box looks for content on the Sales page and the pages that are under its departmental domain. Create links to important or often-used content that are valuable to the Sales department. This content block uses the ei_Collection widget to show a list of links to content selected from the CMS400.NET. Communicate important dates and events to members of the Sales department using the ei_UpcomingEvents widget to show a list of scheduled calendar events. Display news items that affect the Sales department using the ei_ListSummary widget to show a list of content. In this case, the type of content is News with the newest entry at the top. You can choose to automatically scroll the content. Recognize outstanding talent with a picture and some data. This content block uses the ei_PhotoOfTheDay widget with the caption set as "Sales Person of the Month." Show the activity of users and groups inside your eIntranet (not just your department) with whom you have connected using the ei_ActivityStream widget . You can choose the types of information you want to see from your colleagues and groups. Display the members of the Sales department using the ei_CommunityGroupMembers widget. Administrators can add, remove, and invite others to the group. This content block uses the ei_UpcomingEvents widget to show a list of scheduled calendar events. This content block uses the ei_PhotoOfTheDay widget to display an image file, scaled to fit. Highlight a story or event, and add a caption. People can print and email the posted picture. This content block uses the Twitter Feed widget to show status updates from people you have connected to using Twitter. Use this to stay connected with your customers. Set it to show tweets related to your company and stay informed about what others are saying about your product and services. This content block uses the ei_RecentBlogPost widget to display content entered into a blog. A teaser appears with the first few lines of the blog with a link to the blog page for the whole story. This content block uses the ei_Collection widget to show a list of links to content selected from the CMS400.NET. Create links to important or often-used content. This content block uses the ei_ContentBlock widget to show any content from the CMS400.NET. You also can add ratings for the content, links to Add to Favorites, Email, and Print, and comments submitted by logged-in visitors. This list shows important phone numbers. This content block uses the ei_ListSummary widget to show a list of content. In this case, the type of content is News with the newest entry at the top. You can choose to autmatically scroll the content. This content block uses the ei_ListSummary widget to show a list of content. In this case, the type of content is Announcements sorted in descending order: (Traffic, Pizza, Parking).

Employee Resources > Forums

The default Forums page (shown in the following figure) in the Employee Resources area is where your employees join in collaborative and social networking. The site administrator can create new forums, and assign permissions to a person to moderate a forum. Moderating gives the moderator added controls to ensure the forum keeps on track with its charter. For more information about community groups, see Creating Community Groups.

Forums The text "Forums" displays using the eI_Header widget. You can name it anything you want. For information about its properties, see eI_Header Widget.
Forum Content block
Display forums with the following information.
  • Forum name and link to enter the forum.
  • A brief description of the forum purpose.
  • The number of topics in the forum.
  • The number of posts that were entered by forum members.
  • The date of the most recent posting.
The controls above the forum block let you do the following:
  • Get notified by email when posts are made to topics in which you are interested, based on settings in your forum preferences.
  • Get notified by RSS feed (SMS) when posts are made to topics in which you are interested, based on settings in your forum preferences.
  • Click on Control Panel to ...
  • Click on Search to search one or more forums for content you want to find.
